The AI for Digitising Industry SymposiumExploring the Future (AI4DIS 2020) is organised by ECSEL JU project AI4DI, to provide a pan-European platform to exchange information among experts and professionals interested in fundamental advances and applications of AI, with an emphasis on various AI methods and techniques for digitising industry.

 

The Symposium welcomes all participants aiming to build strong connections between industry and research communities across Europe to address the challenges of AI technologies for electronic components and systems for digitising industry and discuss new trends in AI technologies, standards and deployment aspects on a global scale.

 

AI4DIS 2020 is a venue for researchers, scientists, system developers, manufacturers, practitioners and standardization experts to share a joint interest in the research and developments of the AI, embedded systems, communication and IIoT technologies for the digital transformation of industry.

 

In this context, on behalf of the ECSEL JU projects addressing AI and embedded systems developments for digitising industry, we would like to welcome you to the AI for Digitising Industry Symposium – Exploring the Future which will take place in Bologna, Italy on 23rd January 2020.

 

The goal of the Symposium is to present the activities related to AI embedded in electronic components and systems and emphasis the involvement of the partners from different European countries and capture the interest of the public authorities, the industry, research and academia in Emilia-Romagna Region in Italy, while connecting with the Lighthouses E.Mobility, Industry4.E, and ECA2030 ECSEL JU initiatives.

 

 

KEY TOPICS

The AI for Digitising Industry SymposiumExploring the Future (AI4DIS 2020) will focus on technology-based innovation embedded AI methods and techniques addressing the present and future industry value chains.

 

The perception of the AI technologies by European citizens and the industrial sectors that it affects play an important role in the wider adoption debate of AI technologies. Consumer AI technologies are a prime example where citizens are directly exposed to these technologies. Industrial AI solutions may lack direct consumer scrutiny, nevertheless societal perception has an impact on how unions perceive introduction of AI technologies, how management decision on investment are being made and how policy makers decide upon regulations.

 

This requires addressing the challenges that digitising industry and the integration of AI -based components, techniques, methods and applications will bring to various industrial sectors by providing new reference architecture concepts, methodologies, new Silicon-Born-AI components supporting the development of AI-Born embedded systems and the integration into AI-Born industrial systems, design languages, application generators, design automation and respective standardisation to accelerate bringing these technologies into industrial applications.
