AI4DI Session on "AI & Edge for Industrial IoT" IoT Week 2021

AI4DI project organised the "AI & Edge for Industrial IoT" Session at IoT Week 2021 - Online Edition, where Technical University of Munich (Germany), Technical University of Applied Sciences Amberg-Weiden (Germany), and SINTEF (Norway) presented specific edge AI and IIoT technologies and applications developed during the AI4DI project. The session included a presentation from STMicroelectronics (France), covering the AI technology developments in the ANDANTE (ECSEL JU) project. The following three presentations were held:

  • Josip Josifovski, TUM, Germany "Deep Reinforcement Learning Used in Trajectory Optimisation for Industrial Robots in Automotive Manufacturing"
  • Mathias Schneider, OTH, Germany " Open Traffic Data for Mobility-as-a-Service Applications"
  • Ovidiu Vermesan, SINTEF, Norway " AI and IIoT-based Predictive Maintenance Solutions for Industrial Processes"


More information: IoT Week 2021 is a 5 day virtual conference where leaders from the business, tech and science will discuss on the future of Internet of Thing and its impact on business and life. The rising awareness of climate change has caused the popularization of sustainability and the realization that we need to do things not only differently, but better. As focus shifts to finding solutions to climate issues, technological advancements and innovation present a promising way forward.

3rd AI4DI Webinar: AI for Smart Food and Beverage Production

AI4DI partners held the 3rd Webinar of the project, presenting the consortium’s work in the realm of AI for Smart Food and Beverage Production.

Food processing is one of the critical revenues generating sector for a majority of the developed and developing economies, and the implementation of IoT/IIoT and robotics solutions in the industrial sector has supported overcome critical issues related to production and execution by eliminating the possible chance of human errors while reducing the redundancy in work being performed by manual labour. AI can fuel innovation in production and packaging to reach consumer expectations regarding its quality and its associated impact on the cost. To attain the potential trade-off between quality and price, industry stakeholders actively leverage the potential of AI across various applications, such as product design, quality control, maintenance, and consumer engagement, among others.

The AI4DI Webinar no3: AI for Smart Food and Beverage Production was designed to present the AI techniques and methods applied to different applications in the food and beverage industry developed by AI4DI project partners. The Webinar includes presentations from other national and European projects.

2nd AI4DI Webinar: AI for Semiconductor and Industrial Machinery Industries

AI4DI consortium partners are happy to show the 2nd Webinar of the AI4DI project. The Webinar presents the topics of artificial intelligence for semiconductor and industrial machinery industries. This Webinar is designed to present the AI techniques and methods used in different applications in the semiconductor industry and industrial machinery developed by AI4DI project partners. The webinar includes a keynote speech from Prof. Wolfgang Ecker, Infineon, Germany.
