The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (German: Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung), abbreviated BMBF, is a cabinet-level ministry of Germany. It is headquartered in Bonn, with an office in Berlin. The Ministry provides funding for research projects and institutions (aiming for "research excellence") and sets general educational policy. It also provides student loans in Germany. However, a large part of educational policy in Germany is decided at the state level, strongly limiting the influence of the ministry in educational matters.

Under the authority of the Minister of Economy and Finance, the DGE develops and implements public policies relating to industry, the digital economy, tourism, trade, crafts and services.
Its 1,300 agents are mobilized at the national and regional levels through the regional directorates of companies, competition, consumption, labour and employment (Direccte), to promote the creation, development, innovation and competitiveness of companies of all sizes, in France and abroad.

Agentschap Innoveren &Ondernemen (VLAIO) is the point of contact of the Flemish government for all entrepreneurs in Flanders. They stimulate and support innovation and entrepreneurship and contribute to a favourable business climate. They support companies financially through subsidies to be able to grow, transform or innovate. Examples of such subsidies are the SME portfolio, the SME growth subsidy and research and development projects.
